One of the many wonderful things about fly fishing for carp, is that carp will eat virtually anything they can fit in their mouth. From great lakes sculpin, falling cicada flies, to mulberries, there isn’t many things a wild carp won’t eat. As fly designers this opens up a world of creativity to us! Each body of water that carp inhabit has its own unique forage the fish adapt to eating, and therefore we as anglers need to be ready to adapt as well. MEMBER CONTENT: The 'fall campaign' follows American Carp Society member Paul Cioca & Bill Anastasiadis on an epic adventure spanning 2 long weekends in September 2020. The previously un-fished island located in the Kawarthas, Canada was booked on a whim....a gamble which ended up paying off. The island wasn't an easy spot to fish being particularly difficult, because of heavy weeds and zebra mussels. Join Paul and Bill in this great documentation of the session together....

AFTER HOURS: Wayne Boon and his recent "After Hours" Common: The park was closing in 5 minutes and everything was packed away except one last rod that had been left out, perched on a picnic table. It rattled off seconds before it was going to be brought in, ready for the long drive home. Everything was a little rushed trying to get out of the park before the gates closed but here was the result. Hope you enjoy this short video... MILL CREEK WORK PARTY: In the summer of 2019 The American Carp Society and TPWD teamed up to help make improvements on Mill Creek Lake in Canton, Texas. Our members planted both American Bulrush and Water lilies on a shallow bar in the Lake to help TPWD and the City of Canton as well as Anglers that fish the lake. Once established the lilies and bulrush would provide excellent features for the Carp Anglers to fish to as well as provide shelter for Bass, Bluegill and other species.
BIOLOGY: The American Carp Society looks into the biology behind the species in this short narrated film by Sean Manning of The American Carp Society. Shot in the USA at a fish farm that specifically breeds carp for catch and release carp angling, we take a look at all stages of development of the species from fry to fully grown specimens.
